• KICKING OFF THE FALL
    GOLFING SEASON AT PGCC

    NOVEMBER 4-5, 2021

The Douglas Cup was established in 2006 to create camaraderie among the members and spouses of Parkland Golf. This year will be the 9th such event. The tournament has grown over the years with the club membership. It is not just a golf tournament, it is a two-day event, to be enjoyed by all attending. Each participant will be included in all the social activities, kick off Dinner Dance, golf tournaments, lunches, and Trophy Presentation.

The event and lunches are for the participants, and the dinner party is for participants along with their significant other. When you sign up, you are signing up for all events. The club has grown to the point where we cannot include everyone, so if you cannot participate in the whole event, we need to make that space available to someone who can. The men’s tournament is limited to 80 golfers to avoid delays with the golf play.

  • This is the best couple’s social event of the fall season at PGCC. While, it is friendly competition, the real purpose of the event is enjoying the company of your fellow members and meeting new ones. That is why we make participation in all events a requirement. If you would like information on the past events, you can view the results of the previous tournaments on our website Results Tab. http://www.douglascup.com/2020-result/. We apologize in advance to those who may want to play, but we will take first come first serve.

As always, there will be a WHITE team and a BLUE team for both men and women. You must be prepared to wear either white or navy shorts, pants, or skirts. The shirts will all be the same and provided. The color or your shorts will be determined by the team you are joining. You will not have time to go shopping after selection, so you need to be prepared to have both blue and white shorts available. The dress code for the dinner/dance is Country Club elegant casual, which means men, jacket, no tie necessary (we know you won’t have the jacket on all night, but we want entrance photos to include jackets). For the ladies, slacks or dress (no jeans or shorts for either men or women regardless of how much you paid for them). Please understand that the dress code will be strictly enforced this year. We place a lot of emphasis on making this the best events at the club and look forward to your participation.

If heads, Blue team is odd numbered players and if tails, the Blue team is even numbered players (number is the order of registration). In the event of a tie, the team captains will select a player from their team to a tee-off from the 19th hole.

NOVEMBER 4 THURSDAY NIGHT DINNER DANCE EVENT

This is where everyone gets dressed up and goes out for fun, camaraderie, food, drinks, dancing, and entertainment. This party is not about golf, this is a SOCIAL EVENT. The party is where people make friends and socialize with everyone in the room. This is what The Douglas Cup is all about, and what we consider the most important.

The dress code for the dinner/dance is Country Club elegant casual, which means men, jacket, no tie necessary (we know you won’t have the jacket on all night, but we want you to look elegant for your entrance photos). For the ladies, slacks or dress (no jeans or shorts for either men or women regardless of how much you paid for them). Please understand that the dress code is suggested to enhance the event.
